pp.272. incl. maps, pp.98-181. Marbled endpapers. Pictorial title-page shows the Parliament Buildings, Ottawa, reproduced from a photograph by W. Notman. 44.5 x 35.5 cms. Binding is half-calf with dark blue-green cloth; on front cover, large gilt stamped title in blind-stamped decorative running Greek key frame. Spine has gilt title and ruled lines. Condition: a few unobtrusive (worm?) holes along hinge of spine; spine, edges and corners somewhat rubbed. Walling was Professor of Civil Engineering, Lafayette College, Pennsylvania.
