In den 1930er Jahren erwarb das Ehepaar Sissinghurst Castle, wo sie die heute berühmten Gärten anlegten; anfangs Parteigänger von Sir Oswald Mosleys New Party, distanzierte er sich wieder von ihr, nachdem Mosley die British Union of Fascists gründete (1932). - Auf Briefpapier mit gepr.
