Buch Erstausgabe
Zustand: Gut. Erstausgabe. First Edition. 460 Seiten. 20,4 cm. Lesetipp des Bukinisten. Guter Zustand. ,In this magnificent and compelling novel, bestselling author John Fowles has created a dazzlingly erotic tale of obsession and desire, madness and murder. Four men and one woman, all traveling under assumed names, are crossing the Devonshire countryside on their way toward a mysterious rendezvous in the spring of 1736. But nothing is as it seems. Before their violent and enigmatic journey ends, one will be hanged, one will vanish, and the others will face a murder trial. A haunting book about the very nature of truth and lies and of the conflict between reason and superstition, A Maggot is at once a rousing detective story and a glimpse from the eighteenth century into the future. - - John Robert Fowles (* 31. . Buch
Roter Leinenband. Zustand: Gut. 5. Auflage. 447 (1) Seiten. 19,2 cm. Guter Zustand. Carol Milford is a liberal, free-spirited cosmopolitan young woman, reared in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the state capital. She marries Will Kennicott, a doctor, who is a small-town boy at heart. When they marry, Will convinces her to live in his home-town of Gopher Prairie, Minnesota. Carol is appalled at the backwardness of Gopher Prairie. But her disdain for the town's physical ugliness and smug conservatism compels her to reform it. - Harry Sinclair Lewis (* 7. Februar 1885 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota; 10. 1912 erschien sein wenig beachteter Roman Hyke and the Aeroplane. . Aus: wikipedia-Sinclair_Lewis. Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 350.
