With a drawing on the jacket and the title page by Francis Parker. The jacket is slightly soiled, with minor chipping at spine ends, and a rift in lower margin on rear panel. Spine ends and top corners are a trifle bumped. Contents are fine, with just a faint stain on front free endpaper. Lowell's sixth book, which includes the well-known title poem, "Beyond the Alps", "The Old Flame", and "Caligula". Inscribed with blue felt pen on front free endpaper: "With love and admiration", and signed with Lowell's typical simplified "R", but since we haven't been able to determine if the inscription is really of Lowell's hand, the book is priced in accordance with an unsigned copy.
