Both cocked and rather worn, particularly at edges, with some staining on boards: scans available on request. Spine of 'Through The Looking Glass' discoloured. Leading corners and head and foot of spine bumped and worn on both volumes. p.61 of 'Alice' torn away at top corner, removing page number but not any text; small sticker on rear pastedown. Endpapers of both volumes discoloured, and rear hinges of both volumes broken; binding weakened throughout 'Alice' but with no seperation. 'Alice' is a little foxed on early pages, with some light age-related staining on a few pages of main body, nothing obscured; 'Looking Glass' generally clean. These editions include numerous textual and other alterations, thought to be by Dodgson himself, to the original publications; 'Looking-Glass' includes a brief preface dated 1887, and has copies bound in at rear of Carroll's 'An Easter Greeting to every child who loves "Alice"' and 'A Christmas Greeting'.
