Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - '.Bambi was as though bewitched. He was completely beside himself with pleasure. He was simply wild. He leaped into the air, three, four, five times. He had to do it. He felt a terrible desire to leap and jump. He stretched his young limbs joyfully. His breath came deeply and easily. He drank in the air. The sweet smell of the meadow made him so wildly happy that he had to leap. . .' 202 pp. Englisch.

Erstausgabe
First Edition. First American edition. Cloth with dust jacket and rare gift slipcase. First printing of 10,000 copies. Foreword by John Galsworthy. Illustrated by Kurt Wiese. The first edition of the first translation of Bambi into English. By adding the figures of the two previous German editions and the subscription of the Book of the Month Club for 50,000 copies (which they eventually sold and far more so), Simon & Schuster arrived at the statement that their printing was of the "75th-85th Thousand." This copy has a later issue dust jacket with Bambi within a wreath, and is enclosed in a slipcase which matches in main elements the design of the dust jacket. The back panel of this jacket prints press opinions. This gift box was presumably meant for the Christmas season business and is extremely scarce. The ensemble is on the whole very good indeed, with very minimal wear to the slipcase. Previous owner's name in red pencil on front free endpaper, pencil color mostly blends in with the trees in the design, a couple of pages have a thumbnail-sized stain in the middle of the lower edge.
