12mo, pp, [ii], 18, [2], 119, [1]. Contemporary sheep. A few small paper flaws to title-page. Rubbed, a few small areas of loss to leather, joints cracked but cords holding, front board marked, front flyleaf excised. Bookseller?s label of W. Fergusson, Cork, to pastedown, ?of Nashville College Co. Cork? neatly inked to foot of title-page, a few ink corrections and additions throughout first section, ink notes to rear pastedown. A seemingly-unrecorded Dublin printing of this schoolbook, ultimately derived from Charles Hoole?s venerable 1650 Latin grammar ?Terminationes et Exempla Declinationum et Conjugationum in usum Grammaticastrorum? and Lily?s superannuated 16th-century Latin grammars, which remained the standard texts until superseded in the 1860s. We have found no trace of this edition in any of the library catalogues although it appears to conform in most particulars to an 1800 printing, also by Gough, which ESTC records in Trinity College only.
