Soft cover. Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. The uncorrected proof of the first UK edition of this mystery by J. K. Rowling. Very good in wrappers and a fine custom-made collector's slipcase. The book was critically well received, but then became a smash bestseller when the true identity of the author was inadvertently revealed by Rowling's attorney. One must assume the printing on the first UK edition, and especially this advanced proof, was tiny compared to a typical Rowling offering.

First edition, first impression, of Rowling's first pseudonymous novel, signed on the title page as Galbraith. The first of the "Cormoran Strike" crime novels caused a media frenzy when, three months after publication, Rowling was revealed as the author. The first impression comprised 1,750 copies and this is therefore a rare signed Rowling first edition. Errington A17(a). Octavo. Original dark blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt. With dust jacket. Head and foot of spine very slightly bumped; jacket not price-clipped: a near-fine copy in a fine jacket.
