Travel journal, with some poetry by a prominent Methodist cleric. Stokes was trained as a bookbinder, but started to preach at an early age. At his death in 1897, he was the President of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association. He was largely responsible for the building of the Ocean Grove Auditorium. *OCLC* locates less than a dozen copies.

The National Baptist Publishing House issued editions in 1920 and 1924, but this appears to precede, as the introduction is dated in 1914. *OCLC* locates just four copies of this issue.

Stokes was trained as a bookbinder, but started to preach at an early age. At his death in 1897, he was the President of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association. He was largely responsible for the building of the Ocean Grove Auditorium. Quite scarce.
