Collated complete with 97 plates- plans, maps and views and 13 separate pedigrees as called for in the bibliography Upcott. Some internal browning and a tiny crack to the lower corner of the upper board of volume two but - A MAGNIFICENT SHELF PIECE and a standard topographical work. Russia leather is cowhide tanned by a special process, giving a rich smooth effect and impregnated with birch-bark oil. It was introduced from Muscovy before 1700 and was popular with English bookbinders between 1780 and 1830.
