The first edition to all but 'Port of London Murders' which is a third impression. First published in 1938.In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrappers.Three volumes.This set features three murder mystery works. 'The Port of London Murders' follows the Detective Sergeant Chandler who believes a dockland suicide to be murder and the river police who are concerned with smuggling. 'Down Among the Dead Men' follows a murderer and his plan to kill a woman for her husband's money and is set in a hotel where guests enjoy underwater fishing. 'Carnaby and the Demonstrator' follows detective Sergeant Carnaby-King who goes undercover in a protest group. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally excellent with only a slight lean to 'Carnaby' and 'London Murders' with offsetting to the endpapers to the latter. The wraps are very smart with sunning to the spines, edge wear, slight marks and small closed tears to 'London Murders' and 'Down Among the Dead'. Internally half title to pp. 22 tender to 'London Murders' and firmly bound to the others. Pages clean and bright. Spotting to the fore edge. Near Fine. book.
