Inscribed by both authors, apparently to the director of a Seattle version of the play: "Stewart: Sorry I missed the Seattle production. Pictures looked great. Tom Jones" and "Stewart: with all good wishes and many thanks for doing such a nice job with our Luisa. Harvey Schmidt." Luisa is the main female character in the play. Also laid in is an unsigned card engraved with the initials "J.F.B." which states: "Stewart - This comes, with love, from Carole. Also from Tom and Harvey!" A scarce play. Originally performed in 1960, the original Off-Broadway production ran continuously for 42 years!.
