Softcover. Zustand: Very Good. First Edition. [modest wear to edges and extremities, diagonal crease and quite a bit of surface rubbing to rear cover, but a nice solid copy with a fully intact binding -- unusual in this highly-regarded but not well-produced series]. Trade PB (B&W photographs, drawings) Uncommon, square-format paperback book, the first devoted exclusively to the work of this unique American writer/director, best known for his Warner Bros. cartoons and his later feature-film collaborations with Jerry Lewis and the iconographic Jayne Mansfield. Includes two interviews with Tashlin; essays by Robert Mundy, Roger Tailleur, Louis Seguin, Ian Cameron and Paul Willemen; "A Concise Lexicon of Lewisian Terms"; chronology and filmography. Although much improved documentation of Tashlin's career appeared in the 1994 Locarno Film Festival tribute book (ed. Roger Garcia), this one (like most of the Edinburgh monographs) remains a seminal source on its subject.
