Contributors are John Updike ("Two Sonnets"), Allen Ginsberg ("Capitol Air" - - Ginsberg has also made a single word holograph correction to the text), Linda Pastan ("Mother Eve"), Howard Nemerov ("Landscape with Self-Portrait"), Heather McHugh ("From 20,000 Feet"), William Stafford ("Geography Lesson"), William Heyen ("Mother and Son"), and Scott Davison ("Soft Salvation").
