Erstausgabe
Unbound. Zustand: Very Good. First edition. Small quarto. One leaf folded to make four pages. Pictorial self-wrappers reproducing a photograph of Alex Bradford and the Bradford Specials. Front cover has a price shadow, and small abrasion, slight crease at tips of corners, else a very good, bright copy. Alex Bradford, African-American gospel composer, singer, arranger and choir director, was born in Bessemer, Alabama. He is considered to have influenced artists such as Little Richard and Ray Charles, and he helped to bring about the modern mass choir movement in gospel. The arranger, Kenneth Morris, was an African-American composer, and co-founder with partner Sallie Martin of the gospel music publishing house Martin and Morris Music Company, in 1940. At the time of his death, in 1988, Martin and Morris Publishing was the oldest continually run, and only surviving African-American gospel music publishing house in the United States. *OCLC* lists no holdings.
