A guide to the new Europe of the 1990s, this text combines the expertise of leading international experts to chart the political and economic contours of a Europe transformed by the disintegration of the Soviet empire, the transitions in Central and South-Eastern Europe, German unification and the drive towards closer European union. Detailing the many recent changes to Europe's political and economic map, a central theme of this book is the enduring weight of history, the complex policy built up in Western Europe over the past 45 years of which familiar traits can still be clearly defined. Manuskript / Papierantiquität
Draft script for an unproduced film. Based on the 1839 short story "The Fall of the House of Usher" by Edgar Allan Poe. Tim Burton and Jonathan Gems' re-imagining of Poe's classic Gothic tale of the downfall of an esteemed family in their isolated estate, re-imagined in modern day Los Angeles. The film became stalled in pre-production in 1994, at which point both Burton and Gems began work on Burton's outrageous 1996 science fiction comedy "Mars Attacks!." Burton's only attempt thus far at adapting Poe, with whom the filmmaker has had a lifetime obsession. Poe's short story has been adapted for film and television on several occasions, most notably by Roger Corman in 1960, starring Vincent Price, and most recently, in the 2023 Netflix series created by Mike Flanagan. Set in Burbank, California. Purple titled wrappers, with credits for screenwriters Jonathan Gems and Tim Burton. 110 leaves, with last page of text numbered 111. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Near Fine, bound with two gold brads.

Two vintage photographs from the 1974 film, "Consortium D'Achats Audiovisuels" stamp on the verso. A constant barrage of car chases and bloody shootouts, Isaac Hayes plays a pimp-killing bounty hunter on whom the tables are turned, when one of his mark's girlfriends puts a hit out on him. He must outsmart Yaphet Kotto's intimidating gangster or be killed himself. Hayes provides the soundtrack, and "Star Trek's" Nichelle Nichols makes her only 1970s feature appearance as a foul-mouthed whorehouse madam. Released as a double feature with the inimitable "Foxy Brown." Shot on location in Los Angeles. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, light curling, one with paperclip impression on top left. Parish and Hill 224. Howard, Blaxploitation Cinema, p. 37-38, 40, 59, 217-218.
