Hardcover. Zustand: Good. First edition. Publisher's decorative brown cloth stamped in blind. The spine back is chipped and lacks about an inch from the foot and a quarter inch from the crown, some wear at the corners and edges, else very good. A scarce first edition containing manuscript poems by George H. Kimball and Fred E. Sturgess written in 1866, when both were students at the Bangor Theological Seminary in Maine: tipped-in on the front free endpaper is a manuscript poem by Kimball addressed to Sturgess (January 1st, 1866). Laid-in is another manuscript poem by Kimball: "Sacred to the memory of Miss Minnie Boyden" (February 5th, 1866); and three manuscript poems: "An Acrostic" (two versions), and "To my son F.G. Sturgess" (which makes frequent reference to Santa Claus). The poems are accomplished, and appear not to have been published. A nice association.

Softcover. Zustand: Very Good. Three programs. Each approximately 10" x 13". Single sheets of stiff paper folded once to form four pages. They are worn at the extremities, with folds across the front wrappers, and a few spots and tears, very good. The November "Installation Gambol" features an 11-act performance with W.C. Fields as The Interloper, William Powell as one of the chorus ladies, and Eddie Cantor as himself. The December "Thanksgiving Gambol" includes a performance by stage actor William Farnum, and a dramatic presentation of *Hawkshaw The Detective*. The January "Christmas Gambol" feature a play by Frank Crane and a cover illustration from George McManus, the creator of the comic strip, *Bringing Up Father*. *OCLC* lists three other Lambs programs but none are from 1919 or 1920.

FIRST EDITION, CLOTHBOUND ORIGINAL; with a preface that indicates the same importance of the Supplementary Volume compared to the First Edition: ''The present [Supplementary-]Volume contains all that Professor Boole wrote for the purpose of enlarging his Treatise on Differential Equations. Had he lived to publish the second edition he would doubtless have incorporated his more recent investigations with the original work, and it is therefore necessary to explain why another plan has been adopted. In some cases Professor Boole had indicated that certain portions of the original work were to be omitted and their places supplied from the manuscripts; . . . The design of reconstructing the Treatise was therefore abandoned; and it was resolved that the original volume should be reprinted, and that the manuscripts should be collected and published seperately. . . I have printed all the unpublished matter relating to Differential Equations which I found among Professor Boole's papers. . .''(from the Preface of I. Todhunter). - Spine loose at frontjoint and starting to loosen at rearjoint from top; else a very good copy, AS RARE AS THE VERY FIRST EDITION. . .
