Cloth. Zustand: Very Good. Not Stated (illustrator). First edition. A very smart first edition copy of this comprehensive historical survey of Kent watermills and windmills. The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. William Coles Finch (1864 1944) was a British historian, and wrote several books on Kent-related topics. He is best known for this historical survey, which is considered a standard work on the topic of Kent watermills and windmills. An invaluable work for all lovers of old rural England. 4 pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear. In publisher's original cloth binding, with original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, fairly smart, except for fading to the head and tail of the spine, which continues a little to the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot and light offsetting to the first and last couple of pages. Dust wrapper is fairly smart, though the title has almost entirely faded from the spine of the wrap, the spine itself has slightly darkened, and there are marks to the front and rear of the wrap. Some red dye from the cloth has transferred to the verso of the wrap, with a little to the rear of the wrap. Very Good. book.
