First edition 8vo. pp. [14], 127, [1]. Auction catalogue bound in gray card wraps with pictorial label of Walt Whitman lacking. Minor wear to extremities. Pages are clean. Some leaves from another catalogue or magazine are loosely inserted inside the front cover. The 325 items are described with much detail. The prices realized sheet is loosely inserted in the rear. Important collection of Walt Whitman items from the estate of Dr. Richard Maurice Bucke (1837-1902) a Canadian psychiatrist who studied mystical experiences. Burke authored the famous book "Cosmic Consciousness." He also developed a long term friendship with Walt Whitman.
