Harris, Thomas: Black Sunday, New York, NY, U.S.A. Dutton/Plume 2000
ISBN: 0525945555 Near Fine Jacket Design By Richard Hasselberger

25th Anniversary Edition - Signed by Author - Hard cover with grey paper-covered boards, black spine, silver printing on spine, is in NEAR FINE condition. Very minor rubbing to lower spine end. Brodart-wrapped DJ, NOT price-clipped, is FINE. Critics hailed Thomas Harris's debut novel, calling it "breathtaking... apocalyptic" (The New York Times); "suspenseful, nightmarish" (Los Angeles Times); and "frighteningly believable" (Chicago Tribune). Now the bestselling author of "Hannibal" and "Silence of the Lambs" takes you to Superbowl Sunday, when twelve hundred pounds of plastic explosive will drop from the sky, turning eighty thousand screaming fans and one sitting US president to ashes -- and turning millions of TV viewers across the country into horrified witnesses. It is a brilliant, technically flawless plan, conceived for the most part in Michael Lander's partitioned mind. A former Navy pilot and survivor of a Vietnam POW camp, Lander is the ideal candidate for the job. A flyer of exceptional abilities, he is also insane, with his psyche as mangled as his hand -- both casualties of war. It is the assignment of Dahlia Iyad, a beautiful PLO operative and fanatic tortured by her own violent memories. She has seduced Lander, but she must make sure that the homicidal maniac inside his brain is contained long enough to bring America to its knees. Major David Kabakov of the Israeli Secret Service, a child of war himself, has been dispatched to pull off the near impossible: stopping a terrorist strike without knowing who the target or perpetrators are. With its frighteningly authentic characters and an all-too-plausible plot that hurtles along at a breakneck pace, "Black Sunday" is Thomas Harris's mesmerizing first novel -- the book that heralded him as a powerful and unforgettable new voice in suspense fiction. Harris, Thomas. BLACK SUNDAY. New York: Putnam, 1975.
Author's scarce first book, and signed by the author (in black ink) on the title page. Comes with a letter of authentication from the previous owner who bought the book in 1991 and states that the author signed the book for the original owners (the people whose inscription is on the half title page). Previous owner's inscription on half title page and some very faint surface only scuffs to back binding panel; otherwise a fine, straight & clean book with the gilt still bright on the spine and none of the usual binding edgewear, fading to binding cloth, or bumped corners. The dustjacket is priced clipped, the spine has slightly age darkened, and there are a few very tiny rubs/edge nicks. It is bright, clean, crisp, with none of the usual fading to the red lettering of the author's name on the spine. Overall, probably the best example of this book that I've seen. Made into a movie. ; Signed by Author. 399114432.

1st Edition, Hardcover; 1st Printing, 10, 22, NF/NF.
