This limited first and only edition is numbered 802. A rare and wonderful catalogue describing 162 jades dating from the second half of the Ming dynasty to the 20th century. Stanley Nott was in his days by far the leading authority on Chinese jades, advising and selling jades of the highest quality to collectors all over the world. Extremely scarce these days!

Folio volumes, richly bound in green leather with gilt stamped rules to covers and gilt titles to spines; raised bands; page top edges gilt; stamped gilt dentelle decoration to inside cover edges; gilt lines along cover outer edges; green silk endpapers; numerous full-page photographic illustrations, most in black-and-white, some in colour; black and white charts of design motifs. Covers show little evidence of shelf wear - even the gilt lines along the bottom cover edges are not worn. Minor wear as follows; Vol. II: minor wear to head of spine, fading to spine. Vol. III: fading to spine. Excellent edition. Very good. 536 Pages, Illustrated by 118 full page halftone plates reproducted from original photographs together with 123 line engravings. Number 65 of 1000 copies. An extremely scarce work by Nott, by far the leading dealer in Chinese jades in the 1930's - 1950's, who supplied many collectors and museums in his time.
