Chronology, sources, index.
Description: Dust jacket art by Tony Madia. Includes a section of black and white plates with historic photographs; these photos were previously unpublished. Chris Madsen came from Denmark as youth to fight Indians, and got all the Indian fighting he wanted. After he married, he had to find a better way to make a living, and became a lawman. For twenty-five years Madsen patrolled the badlands of Oklahoma. This account of his career is based on first hand sources, including an unpublished manuscript which the author found, with the help of Madsen's son in an old trunk. Ramon Adams states ''much material on the Oklahoma outlaws, including Arkansas Tom, Ben Cravens, the Daltons, Al Jennings,, Little Dick, [etc]'' Six-Guns, Number 525. Be sure to read the index, like others by Croy, this is a proper, useful index, but goes beyond that with his interesting and occasionally amusing comments added. BINDING/CONDITION: red cloth with gilt spine text; the spine is slightly slanted, otherwise a Very Good book, with a Very Good dust jacket; the dust jacket is not price clipped. 1st Edition, so stated. Hardbound 8vo (8.25 inches tall) 267 pages.
