Krawitz, H. A Post-Symbolist Bibliography. The Scarecrow Press, Metuchen, first edition, 1973.
Roughly two-thirds of this work is devoted to bibliographies of the criticm and interpretation on individual authors, poets and dramatists, covering : Bely / Blok / Briusov, Benn, Bonnefoy, Brennan, Darlo, T.S. Eliot, George, Guillen, Hofmannsthal, Jimenez, Lorca, Rilke, Stevens, Ungaretti, Valery, Vallejo and Yeats. The remainder is divided into three more general sections, with the first including books and articles which purport to deal with post-symbolism from a supranational perspective; many of the works listed in this section are concerned with questions of theory and definition of the movement. The second section is primarily national in scope and the third is reserved for studies involving two or more literary figures; the question of influence is specifically dealt with here. The bibliography is comparative in nature, with special emphasis upon recently-published criticism (1950-1970) written in English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian. Attention has also been given to books and articles (written in English) which deal with other national literatures (e.g. Russian). With an index of authors.
Cloth, 8vo, 284 pp. 4141 entries. Covers slightly marked, otherwise very good.

Gies, David T.. The Theatre in Nineteenth-Century Spain. New York, NY, U.S.A.: Cambridge University Press, 1994.
8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall 0521380464 Signed by Author Unread copy. Signed and inscribed by author on title page. This is the first comprehensive study of the theatre of nineteenth-century Spain, a most important genre which produced more than 10,000 plays during the course of the century. David Gies assesses this mass of material - much of it hitherto unknown - as text, spectacle, and social phenomenon. His book sheds light on political drama during Napoleonic times, the theatre of dictatorship (1820s), Romanticism, women dramatists, socialist drama, neo-Romantic drama, the relationship between parody and the dominant literary currents of the day, and the challenging work of Galdos. A chapter on the battle to create a National Theatre reveals the deep conflicts generated by the various interested factions in the middle of the century. 392pp..
