Cancer is one of the leading killers in the world and the incidence is increasing, but most cancer patients and cancer survivors suffer much from the disease and its conventional treatments' side effects. Zowel het 'Repertorium van Kent' als 'Kent's Materia Medica' zijn boeken die veelvuldig worden geraadpleegd. Beide behoren tot de standaarduitrusting van de klassiek homeopaat en zijn onmisbaar in de praktijk. De homeopathische 'Materia Medica' is een soort databank van symptoombeschrijvingen, waarbinnen het moeilijk is structuren te onderkennen. De eenvoud, de uitgebreidheid en de ogenschijnlijke overeenkomsten tussen de symptomen van verschillende geneesmiddelen betekenen een enorme uitdaging. Kent zei al dat er geen gouden regel bestaat voor volledig begrip van de homeopathische 'Materia Medica'.
