Original, blindstamped publishers cloth with illustrated spine and front board (Wandering Tramp with umbrella, pipe and stick). First Edition, First Impression with "MOSES" on frontispiece. With the inserted portrait of Mark Twain by J.A.J.Wilcox before the frontispiece. Spine slightly faded, extremities lightly rubbed, starting cracks on inside hinge (front and back), but still tight and fully attached. Contemporary preowner-signature and date on the front fly-leaf. A fine copy of one of Twain's most popular books, with illustrations by W.Fr.Brown, Williams, B. Day and other artists "with also three or four pictures made by the author of this book, without outside help".
