Vol. I. has damp staining to verso of frontispiece, tape residue to gutter, between tissue guard and title page, random pages have mild upper edge damp stain (not many pages). Rubbing of front board. Vol. III, has few pale spots to front board. All spine ends rubbed and bumped, few short closed tears, corners bumped, mild edge rubbing. Smattering of pages with closed edge tears. Each has frontispiece with tissue guard, and many illustrations. Previous owners named to preliminary page. Bright marbled end papers and page edges, volumes have cracked hinges .Text blocks firm.
