first edition, 225 pp., frontispiece and a few illustrations, one of the 20 by 20 foot catafalque draped in black velvet and drawn by six white horses; library book plate and markings, unlettered cloth chipped at head of spine with front cover and frontis. broken off, complete but reading copy; the events of Memorial Monday in great detail including an account of an impromptu aquatic funeral pageant, slightly over one hundred pages devoted to the histories of the various organizations that took part and a few individuals e.g. Old Jordan the 81 year old "veteran colored drummer" know for his ability to "set even the most sluggish souls all agog with animation" but a talent presumably not exercised at this event *Helping and promoting global literacy since 1961*
