It is beautifully printed with nice typography, illustrated with 23 tipped-in facsimile drawings by Lafcadio Hearn. All were taken from Hearn's own notebook containing Japanese comic poems about goblins and monsters. Complete text in both English and Japanese. * THE EDITION: FIRST & ONLY NUMBERED EDITION OF 500 ONLY COPIES: Each copy has a separate limitation paper laid down, which was the LIMITATION STATEMENT COLOPHON, showing the limitation of 500 copies in all, each copy is individually numbered in blue ink. There is an additional Japanese language colophon inside the front cover stating the title, compiler, publisher, dates and a note by the printer. * The book has two separate English and Japanese title pages, preface, contents and full text in both languages, with each page of text * BINDING: Beautifully bound with white buckram cloth spine, over hand-loomed indigo-blue Ai Kasuri cotton cloth covers, in a Deluxe large paper edition, 32 x 43 cm. on hand-made Washi deckle-edge paper. The work was issued by Kazuo Koizumi to commemorate the 30th anniversary of his father's death. * RARITY: The book is rare, seldom found on the market, published in a small edition, the majority of these were distributed to friends by Kazuo, at the time not much of an economic venture, basically a "labor of love." * BIBLIOGRAPHY: BAL 8030.
