Contemporary blind vellum.* Rare German translation of a contribution on the Vesuvius by the Scottish diplomat Sir William Hamilton (1731-1803), British ambassador to the Kingdom of Naples from 1764 to 1800, and including, for the first time, his contributions on the volcanoes of the Rhine.
