Albert Bernhard Frank (1839-1900), Biologe. E. Vorlesungsankündigung mit U. ("B. Frank"). [Leipzig], o. D. 1 S. Qu.-8°. - Ankündigung der Lehrveranstaltungen über "Krankheiten der Cultusgewächse", "Ueber Unkräuter" und "Ueber Wiesengräser". - A. B. Frank bekleidete seit 1878 eine ao. Professur in Leipzig und wurde 1881 o. Professor und Direktor des Pflanzenphysiologischen Instituts (seit 1894 Institut für Pflanzenphysiologie und Pflanzenschutz) der neugegründeten Landwirtschaftlichen Hochschule Berlin; 1899 wurde Frank Leiter der neuerrichteten Biologischen Abteilung für Land- und Forstwirtschaft am Kaiserlichen Gesundheitsamt. Er veröffentlichte u. a. ein "Lehrbuch der Pflanzenphysiologie" (1890). "Untersuchungen zu Krankheiten der Süßkirsche, der Rübe, des Getreides sowie der Kartoffel machten ihm nicht nur in der wissenschaftlichen Welt einen Namen. Er war dafür bekannt, die Ergebnisse seiner Forschung für die Landwirtschaft und die Forstwirtschaft rasch nutzbar zu machen. Edward Steichens work for "Museum of modern art" in New York ended with the exhibitions of Robert Frank and Harry M. Callahan from January till april 1962.
