Cover has some shelf wear, rubbing/scuffing, bumping. Glazed boards appear to have thin, clear laminant, some of which is starting to peel away, near spine. 1/4" spot on bottom of back, at spine, where color has been broken through to the cardboard, beneath. Inside front cover is stamped owner's name and a small postage stamp/sticker that says 'Christmas 1967". Front end paper has owner's name tidily written at top, below that is gift inscription, dated Christmas 1964. Stitched pages are clean and tight. Spine is white with black and red lettering. End papers are light blue with b/w border and drawings. French language editions published by Ernest Flammarion, Paris, 1961. Exquisitely illustrated with many full page, color drawings, as well as smaller color and b/w drawings, unique to each story. Includes 11 stories. Traditional Russian tales: Winter's Promised Bride; The Cat Who Became Lord of the Forest; Baba Yaga; Alenka and Her Brother; Prince Ivan, the Infant Ogress and the Little Sister of the Sun.
