Etching printed in Paris 1893. The plate 'Souvenir of Tuscany' , was Corot's first etching, summarily needled about 1845 but left unbitten, until 1865 when Braquemond discovered it in a box of nails at Corot's home. Bracquemond took proofs and Corot reworked the subject extensively. After Corot' death the plate was lettered with the title etc. and published in the Gazette des Beaux Arts to accompany the obituary article in 1875.132mm x 182mm: Framed

Illustrated dustwapper, being at the power of 1859 painting " Landscape with Figures ", with white writing on front panel and spine. Rubbing to the dustwapper corners and crinkling and creasing to the top and bottom dustwapper edges. The back panel has become marked and rubbed.
