3 vols.; Tall 8vo.(ca. 19 cm x 26 cm). Attractive mauve original cloth binding with nicely gt.decor.spines and blind stamped decor. on covers. Hundreds of fairly large very nice wood-engr.illustrations. Approx. 800 pages per volume, each with index. Quite nice set. The binding is a little bit faded, a bit unevenly on some covers Extremities a bit rubbed, slightly more so on the "Mammalia", and the "Reptiles...." volumes the latter has a few small holes in cloth along sides of spine. Both volumes have endpapers split / slightly untidy along hinge (but nothing loose). A few pages have a weak crease on top corner, and fore-edge of one page is chipped. Mostly very clean inside, with nice strong impressions on the engravings. Good set.
