[Corman, Cid and Susumu, Kamaike, trans.] Basho: Back Roads to Far Towns, Ecco, 1996

First edition ,Introduction by Robert Hass. New and bright tall wraps with excellent spine and crisp unread text. Personal copy of the poet Cid Corman with his signed bookplate. A serviceable introduction certainly by the poet Robert Hass about the background to the editor, poet and translator Cid Corman. but his introduction is also filled with errors. Cid Corman never started a magazine as a co-editor with LeRoi Jones (Amiri Baraka) nor had he ever published Allen Ginsberg. And Cid Corman never ran a publishing house store front in Kyoto -- rather a restaurant through his wife Shizumi's family. Otherwise a remarkably handsome edition. Many times published in various editions. This is one of the finest
