These activities of the artist are treated by eight of Italy's leading scholars, together with the artist's interests in Ancient Rome, his poetry, and a full exposition of his life. Accompanying the text are hundreds of black-and-white illustrations and scores of illustrations in color, making this study the most complete one on Raphael in the English language."
