Cloth. Zustand: Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: fine. First edition of Looking Forward by Vice President George H.W. Bush, inscribed to his Chief of Staff, Craig L. Fuller. (illustrator). First Edition, First Printing. Octavo, xii, 270pp. Red cloth, title in gilt on spine, signature in gilt on front panel. Stated "first edition" on copyright page. Publisher's first edition dust jacket, fine condition, with $18.95 on front flap, bright illustrations. Book is inscribed by Vice President George Bush to his Chief of Staff, Craig Fuller. Inscription reads: "To Craig Fuller, With appreciation and High Regard - Now we write the last chapter. George Bush. 8-31-87." An exceptional association copy. At the age of 34, Craig L. Fuller was asked to serve as the Chief of Staff for Vice President George H.W. Bush. He had previously served in the Reagan administration as the Assistant to the President for Cabinet Affairs. After serving as Chief of Staff for 4-years, it was assumed that Fuller would follow Bush to the White House in 1989. Shortly after the 1988 election, the President-elect told Fuller that New Hampshire Governor John H. Sununu would serve as his White House Chief of Staff. Fuller was disappointed and decided to return to the private sector, where he enjoyed a successful career in corporate and public affairs.
