With a BFA in painting, Elizabeth Briel has been an itinerant artist in various capacities, working with the Liverpool Biennial, studying sculpture in Tuscany, and teaching photography to street kids in Cambodia. She has also worked in private collections in Dubai, England, Korea, the US, Hong Kong, and Norway. Currently based in Hong Kong, she specializes in cyanotypes, one of the earliest photo processes from the nineteenth century.
Taking the classic primer on an international journey, each page is written in English and Chinese characters, with simple, playful, and evocative language describing elements of daily life in Hong Kong, teaching children not only to read, but about a new culture.

Tricia Morrissey
Author of Hiss! Pop! Boom!, My Mom is a Dragon and My Dad is a Boar, and Everyday Life Through Chinese Peasant Art, Tricia Morrissey was born in Nairobi, Kenya, and spent her childhood in Africa, Greece, and the United States. She now lives in San Francisco where she writes and edits books for children, specializing in the culture of China.
