Helping children with cancer cope with their illness, this illustrated book approaches their emotions from diagnosis through treatment in a way that they can easily understand and can help describe what they are feeling. In the story, a young girl uses colour to express her full range of emotions as she undergoes cancer treatment. Some days she's sad, some days she's happy, and other days she's scared or angry. The girl comes to realise that these ups and downs are perfectly normal for her situation. The book assures children with cancer that they are not alone, and helps them understand that it's okay to let out their feelings.

Courtney Filigenzi is the award-winningauthor of Let My Colors Out and a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She lives in Woodstock, Maryland.Nicole Tadgell was born in Detroit, Michigan. A shy child, her family moved frequently, and she found art to be both fun and an escape, a way for her to create her own world on paper. While studying studio art at Wheaton College, Nicole recalled how much she had enjoyed drawing her own stories and realized that illustrating children s books could be the right path. Today, Nicole has illustrated more than twenty books. Her work has been honored with the Children's Africana Book Award, the Americas Award, the Arkansas Diamond Primary Book Award, and the Growing Good Kids Award. In addition, her books have appeared on numerous lists of recommended books for children, including the Smithsonian Notable Books for Children, New York Public Library's Best 100 Titles for Reading and Sharing, Bank Street College Best Books of the Year, Cooperative Children's Book Center s annual best books, Eastern Washington University s Excellent Choices, and Rutgers University s EconKids Top 5 Books.
