Biografía del autor:
Cara Koscinski has her Master's degree in Occupational Therapy and has been an occupational therapist since 1997. She is a homeschooling mother to her own two children with autism, sensory processing disorder, learning disabilities, and medically complex needs. In 2005, she was one of the founders of Aspire Pediatric Therapy, LLC and Route2Greatness, LLC. As the Pocket Occupational Therapist, Cara provides occupational therapy services, advocacy, and consultations to school districts, church organizations, homeschoolers, and trainings to therapists in many disciplines. Most recently, Cara was a speaker at the West Virginia Speech and Hearing Association state conference. Ms. Koscinski enjoys working and training occupational therapists in the area of tele-health. She has also provided many continuing education modules which are sold across the United States. Her company also creates, produces, and distributes CDs for children with auditory sensitivity, and designs and distributes autism, sensory processing disorder, and eosinophilic disease awareness products. The CDs that Cara has created, Sound-Eaze and School-Eaze, are featured in several catalogues for children with special needs including: Southpaw Enterprises, Amazon, Abilitations, The Therapy Shoppe, and Achievement Products. Cara is passionate about providing quality treatment to children with special needs, which is evident by her additional training and drive to seek new and fun ways to help children to achieve their goals. By forming a partnership with the caregiver, goals for therapy can be met faster and while everyone is having fun! Articles Ms. Koscinski has authored have been published in AutismAsperger's Digest, Autism Spectrum Quarterly, APFED, Something Special Magazine, and NewsLine, among others. Cara is an advisor to AutismAsperger's Digest Magazine. She was recently named as one of Jennifer O'Toole's Asperkids Advisors of Awesomeness. Cara was the recipient of the Duquesne University's Innovative Practice Entrepreneur Award and has served as an adjunct clinical instructor for the Duquesne University Occupational Therapy program. She has extensive training in sensory processing disorder, pediatric feeding techniques, tele-practice, school-based therapy, core muscle considerations, autism, gastro-intestinal disorders, behavior, upper extremity treatment, handwriting, Therapeutic Listening, caregiver stressors and support, visual perception, and business/private practice topics.
