Mark Bellomo is one of the top toy experts in the country, having written hundreds of magazine articles and numerous books. He is considered an authority on action figures, particularly G.I. Joe, Transformers and Star Wars. Bellomo has also authored a number of books on toys and popular culture: Warman's Action Figures Field Guide, Transformers: Identification & Price Guide, Warman's Transformers Field Guide, the first and second editions of The Ultimate Guide to G.I. Joe: 1982-1994, and Totally Tubular 80's Toys. He is currently working on Transformers: The Fall of Cybertron--A Guide to the Art for IDW Comics (September, 2012). He is also is providing forewords, introductions, and editorial notes for a bevy of IDW Comics trade paperback titles: G.I. Joe: The Best of Larry Hama, the seven volume Transformers: Classics (2011-present) trades, four volumes of G.I. Joe: Special Missions (2010-2011) and the patriotic 4th of July G.I. Joe Treasury Edition (June, 2012). He is also presiding over the company's foray into reprinting NOW Comics' entire run of The Real Ghostbusters comics (2012-2014), as well as the ambitious fifteen-volume hardcover project, G.I.
