Mike has been preaching since 1978. He was raised in Marianna,FL, where he graduated high school. Mike received a BA in Bible and Speech Communication from Freed-Hardeman College in 1981. He married the former Rebecca Nearhoof of Des Moines,IA that same year. From 1981, they worked with the Huntingdon church of Christ in Huntingdon, TN until 1985, when they moved to Arnold, Missouri, to work with the Arnold church of Christ until 1991. Mike and Rebecca have been with the Richmond church of Christ in Richmond, Kentucky since 1991. They have 3 children: Stephanie, Austin, and Aubri.
