The UK has lower levels of productivity than some of our major competitors and this has been an issue for many years. Employers decisions on investment in R&D, on products and processes and where they position themselves in terms of their value added are all important. This report is written in collaboration with The Council for Industry and Higher Education (CIHE) and seeks to contribute to our understanding of the low levels of productivity within the UK. The report challenges research and raises key points in the process of acknowledging and developing UK productivity.
