GWR Handbook: The Great Western Railway 1923-47 - Hardcover

This book tells the story of the Great Western Railway. Known by the dedicated as 'God's Wonderful Railway', the GWR - uniquely among Britain's railways - retained its identity from the time of its incorporation in 1835 until nationalisation in 1948 and therefore has a particularly special heritage. This extensively illustrated book, a sister title to the "LMS Handbook", provides a unique and highly detailed reference source for the GWR, containing text, tabular details and photographs of its steam locomotives and rolling stock, its other equipment, its depots and some railway stations, and its network.
