In 1016, two English princes and rightful heirs to the throne were banished to the continent. This book chronicles the lost years in Eastern Europe of one of the princes, Edward Aetheling, his eventual return to England and his death, which set in motion events leading to the 1066 Norman conquest. Gabriel Ronay examined a wide variety of contemporary sources, from Iceland to Kievan Russia, in order to unearth the story of the two brothers' fate. He is also the author of "The Dracula Myth", and writes on Soviet and East European affairs for "The Times".
