Cartoonist Bill Amend was born in New England, but moved to the San Francisco Bay area when he was 12. He is a graduate of Amherst College with a degree in physics. While in school, he contributed to the student newspaper with twice-weekly editorial cartoons. He enjoys tinkering with computers and playing video games in his spare time. Bill lives in the Midwest with his wife and two children.

Bill Amend was named Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year by the National Cartoonists Society in 2007. He createsFoxTrot cartoons for Sunday newspapers and maintains an online presence at foxtrot.com. He lives in the Midwest, with his wife and two children.
