It is Al Rogers' birthday, and another of their number - Ron - is in the city for the Broadway premiere of his play. They were all, at one time, involved in the arts and entertainment - Holly, Al's wife still writes pot-boilers whilst caring for their baby son, but Al himself has had to put his dreams of writing a 'big' book on hold.As they gather together and make plans for the reunion, the one-time friends and lovers reflect on the past, and ponder on what they've accomplished - or haven't.
