Alicen Grey wrote her first poem when she was 6 years old. Since then, she has won several writing competitions and accumulated various honors, the most recent of which being the prestigious Tessie K Scharps Writing Award. Alicen's work has been featured in a diverse range of platforms, including Be Moxie, The Phoenix Project, and The Olivetree Review. In early 2014, she released Wolves and Other Nightmares, a "deft, haunting and beautiful" collection of poetry about healing from a cultic relationship. Alicen Grey is primarily a poem-maker. When she's not writing, she likes to sing, act, paint her face, wander New York City, ask lots of questions and stare at the moon for unreasonable lengths of time.
