The English and Their Horses

In this celebration of the world of horsemanship, the authors asked a selection of people to choose one horse or pony to talk about. The resulting text, complemented by photographs, provides a picture of horsemanship and of the relationships that grow between people and horses. Kit Houghton is an equestrian photographer who has covered major horse events for national magazines and specialist equestrian publications. Paul Heiney is author of "In at the Deep End" and "Pulling Punches", both about horses, and Libby Purves is also the author of "The Hurricane Tree".
