Frank Selto is Professor of Accounting at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he has taught management accounting at all levels since 1985. Dr Selto’s research has focused on applications of management controls, such as quality and efficiency controls, and balanced scorecards.

Tom Groot is Professor of Management Accounting at the VU University in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, since 1995. He is chair of the Department of Accounting and Director of the Amsterdam Research Centre in Accounting (ARCA).
