As the recent financial crisis unfolded into a worldwide recession, the ideas of Hyman Minsky were re-discovered. Minsky, along with Keynes, belongs in the pantheon of seminal thinkers, owing to his major contribution to the understanding of the economy and its evolution.
This collection of essays adapts and develops Minsky's innovative insights, while keeping the originality of his methodology and vision. Providing vital interpretations of the present crisis, this volume shows that it is time to take a step forward in our understanding of Minsky, his visions of a capitalist economy with developed financial institutions, and the real possibilities of the Financial Instability Hypothesis.
This book is essential reading for all interested in development economics, the history of economic thought, and the global economic crisis.
